Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Site Supervisor to oversee the daily operation of the Sulzer Site within the Eskom Power Station perimeter.

Purpose and Responsibilities

Ensuring that the site is maintained to uphold the Sulzer brand image, comply with the OHSA No.85 of 1993 and Regulations, all accounts owed to the client are serviced, and Sulzer-specific policies are adhered to.

Main tasks and responsibilities

1. People Management - Manage the site employees to ensure that all outcomes of the Eskom contract are met, including timekeeping, resource management, disciplinary actions, and succession planning.
2. Client Interaction - Work closely with client representatives to meet Eskom contract outcomes, attend meetings, communicate via letters, spreadsheets, emails, and telephonic conversations, and manage commercial engagements.
3. Management Interaction - Collaborate with the field service manager and other site supervisors to achieve Eskom contract outcomes and other initiatives.
4. Meetings - Attend and participate in all required meetings, take minutes, and follow up on actions. Initiate meetings with subordinates, subcontractors, clients, and Sulzer management.

Operational Management

1. Site Administration - Oversee daily site operations, including managing work hours, maintaining site setup, and managing site assets and safety administration as per relevant legislation and standards.

Safety Management

1. Maintain SHE files and inspect ongoing work to ensure compliance with SHE specifications and legislation.
2. Prepare and review risk assessments regularly.
3. Ensure all equipment and personnel meet safety and training requirements.
4. Report accidents and near misses, attend SHE meetings, and correct unsafe conditions.

Qualifications and Experience

• QESH knowledge and experience
• P.S.R Authorization and Trade Test
• Experience in reporting, customer satisfaction surveys, and compliance
• Residence within 1-2 km of the site or willingness to relocate; willing to travel and work standby shifts
