About the Division
Regulatory & Financial Risk (RFR) is an established advisor within the financial services industry.
Our vision is to be the leading provider of advisory services to financial services providers and corporate treasury operations across Africa.
Our client offerings span credit, market, and corporate treasury risks; valuations of financial instruments; hedge accounting; and financial technology.
We provide these services in advisory, assurance, managed solutions, and resource augmentation capacities.
We also assist clients in addressing regulatory challenges related to IFRS 9, 13, 17, Basel, and others.
Our team includes accountants, actuaries, statisticians, and quantitative analysts with technical expertise in financial modeling and coding.
Our client base includes the financial services industry and other sectors such as telecoms, retail, and healthcare, both locally and internationally.
The RFR Credit team focuses on :
Developing, refining, and validating IFRS 9 Impairment Models
Regulatory and Economic Capital Credit Models
Scorecards and Analytics
Designing and implementing Credit Monitoring Frameworks
Collections Optimization
Strategy and Risk Appetite Statements

Responsibilities include :
Supporting the RFR - Credit Risk Team in delivering services to clients on engagements and projects
Developing and calibrating credit risk models
Model validation, monitoring, and testing
Benchmarking credit metrics
Deriving portfolio credit analytics
Reviewing client deliverables for quality and accuracy
Communicating project challenges and outcomes
Drafting reports and sharing knowledge with colleagues
Understanding audit and advisory interactions and strategies
Providing strategic insights to partners
Demonstrating leadership and business knowledge
Managing complex projects within time and budget
Delivering professional presentations
Exercising excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Mentoring and coaching team members

Problem-solving with strong business acumen
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Undergraduate degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Financial Engineering, Actuarial Science, Engineering, Economics, or Econometrics
3-5 years relevant experience in banking, financial consulting, or similar
Fundamental credit risk modeling skills, including predictive techniques
Basic knowledge of credit lifecycle, model risk management, Basel, and IFRS 9
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Coding skills in SAS, R, and / or Python
