Job description

To own and deliver a centre of excellence for the holistic solutioning of trade and supply chain finance clients. Lead the Transactional Sales team in holistic solutioning of trade clients. Execute and deliver the trade product CVP by driving a digital culture shift through digitization in line with the cluster goals for Transactional Services and CIB.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Manage and drive the holistic solutioning of trade clients.
  2. Drive financial objectives through budget gap analysis and creating awareness of the gap with the frontline Sales team.
  3. Lead and guide the Sales team in the origination, structuring and execution of trade and supply chain finance opportunities in a sustainable manner in line with cluster goals.
  4. Drive, develop and manage client growth by identifying client CVP opportunities across sector and segment to grow market share, optimise portfolio and ensure enhanced commercialisation.
Customer:

Drive client value creation by supporting effective problem statement articulation and holistic solutioning with frontline sales teams. Provide product-specific expertise and support to Sales and clients in terms of deal structuring and solutioning. Drive client engagement through information and insights to ensure product health, utilisation, and conduct to understand competitor pricing, create customer value analysis (i.e., identifying additional cross-sell opportunities), and ensure client problem statement articulation. Responsible for client CVP around the end-to-end value chain to create seamless client experiences and innovative solutions around touch point optimisation with digital self-service capability. Deliver a world-class service by ensuring a client-centric culture.

Product management: Input into the product vision with a long-term strategic execution of business roadmap & strategy through creation of client and sector CVPs.

Provide feedback on product/process related to client needs, issues, pipeline, and industry developments to ensure CVP, differentiators, and target alignment. Drive excellence in strategy execution by integrating people, processes, management, systems, and measurements. Lead and influence collaboration across TS, cluster, and juristic entities to achieve distinctive client-centred CVPs.

Stakeholder Management:

Collaborate with stakeholders for commercialization, compliance, people, technology, support, operationalization, value management, and servicing. Include defining and delivering training and upskilling within the value chain for Sales and Clients. Identify new vendor and partner opportunities and provide feedback to Product Specialists & Product Head. Ensure participation in pricing, pipeline, CST, and sector meetings with shared accountability for lead generation and conversion.

Job Responsibilities Continue

Ensure reporting to industry bodies in line with regulatory requirements and create feedback loops into product development. Drive ideation and execution while ensuring strategic management & reforms. Monitor performance against targets related to regulatory compliance, risk management, internal audit, market conduct, and other business obligations. Understand implications and opportunities related to risk, compliance, and regulation.

Risk, Internal Audit & Compliance:

Monitor staff compliance with operational and legislative requirements. Prevent loss and risk, enforce internal controls, and ensure staff adherence through effective management processes. Engage Business Analysts to re-engineer processes for efficacy and risk control.

People:

Manage a team of trade and supply chain finance product sales experts effectively across HR functions including recruitment, performance management, retention, succession planning, coaching, and talent development. Oversee performance management of direct reports and ensure continuous development of product management principles. Stay updated on industry developments through training and career growth opportunities.

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
  • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
Preferred Qualification

Master of Business (MBA) or similar qualification would be advantageous.

Minimum Experience Level

7-10 years’ experience in banking or financial services, with at least 5 years in a management role, providing relevant exposure as described above.
