Join a dynamic logistics leader as the Human Resources Executive

Our client is a well-established business operating within the logistics and courier sector. They are committed to operational excellence and delivering high-quality service across their national network. With a strong focus on people, compliance, and business optimisation, they are seeking a forward-thinking Human Resources Executive to lead the design and implementation of an integrated people strategy. This is an opportunity to shape workforce practices, drive strategic initiatives, and ensure compliance across the full HR value chain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve HR processes, policies, and compliance frameworks.
  • Align HR practices with business strategy, operating model, and statutory requirements (BCEA, EEA, LRA, OSHA, NBCRFLI).
  • Develop and manage BBBEE strategies and scorecard implementation.
  • Drive workforce optimisation by analysing performance metrics and aligning with best industry practices.
  • Oversee full spectrum of talent management: recruitment, retention, succession planning, and performance management.
  • Lead employee relations strategies, ensuring labour legislation compliance and engagement within a unionised environment.
  • Champion skills development, learning strategies, and compliance with statutory training reports.
  • Partner with business leaders on organisational design, culture change and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Manage HR budgeting, payroll, compensation, and benefits administration.
  • Report on HR metrics, implement cost-reduction initiatives, and manage the temporary employment services budget.

Experience and Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field (essential).
  • 5–8 years’ senior HR leadership experience, with at least 3–5 years in a unionised environment (essential).
  • Proven experience in driving people strategy and business transformation.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of South African labour legislation and HR compliance.
  • Excellent business communication skills (verbal and written), particularly at an executive level.
  • Strong command of MS Office Suite: Intermediate Excel and Word; Advanced PowerPoint.
  • Experience in the logistics or courier industry is advantageous.
  • Must be a South African citizen with a clear criminal record.
