Job description

CHEF TOURNANT LUXURY ESTATE KITCHEN

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Chef Tournant to join our dynamic kitchen team. As Chef Tournant, you will be responsible for ensuring the daily food preparation is executed to the highest standard, working closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef. You will oversee food quality, freshness, and the efficiency of kitchen operations.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Provide guidance and support to junior kitchen staff, including line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating.
  2. Oversee and organize kitchen stock and ingredients to ensure efficiency.
  3. Ensure proper food rotation using the first-in, first-out system and verify all food products are properly dated and organized for quality assurance.
  4. Maintain well-stocked cooking stations, especially during peak operational hours.
  5. Train and assess kitchen staff on job performance, including cooking techniques and plating standards.
  6. Manage food and product ordering, keep detailed records, and minimize waste. Work with systems to improve waste reduction and budget management.
  7. Monitor and maintain health and safety standards in the kitchen.
  8. Familiarize yourself with weekly and daily reservations, events, and menu requirements.
  9. Work across all kitchen sections, including pastry, ensuring versatility and flexibility in preparation.

Main Requirements

  • Culinary Diploma / Certificate.
  • Preferably 2-3 years of previous experience in a similar role.
  • Reliable transport for commuting to work.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Availability to work during opening hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments and maintain high standards.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing demands.
