Job description

Join DHL Express - SSA as a Project Manager in Finance: Drive Global Change!

IT’S NOT JUST AN OPPORTUNITY TO GET ON THE CAREER LADDER.

IT’S AN OPPORTUNITY TO HELP THE WORLD GET ON TOGETHER

Why do people call us the world’s most international company? Is it because we operate in more countries than any other logistics provider? Is it because we invented cross border shipping over 45 years ago? Or is it, perhaps, because what we do connects people across the world. And the more we can connect people, the better life on earth becomes.

We love our role in the world. And we’re looking for the right people to help us maintain – and grow it. People like you.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to join our Regional Finance for Sub- Saharan Africa. In this pivotal role, you will manage the deployment and reporting of business-critical projects, specifically leading the implementation of a Time and Attendance system across 42 countries.

Your hands-on approach will be essential in developing and enhancing procedures, policies, and guidelines related to HR and Payroll systems in the initial stages.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management Excellence:

  • Take the lead in ensuring efficient and effective project management practices.
  • Organize and develop project teams, ensuring internal approvals on all milestones and conducting post-implementation assessments to confirm sustainability.
  • Identify gaps and areas for improvement in processes, people, and systems, reformulating strategies and objectives as required.
  • Ensure projects deliver on desired outcomes related to compliance, quality, productivity, and budget.
  • Foster a high-performing team culture with a can-do attitude, coaching team members to strive for excellence.

Systems and Integrations:

  • Collaborate with IT, Operations, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of HR and Payroll systems with existing business processes.
  • Lead initiatives for automating payroll processing and reporting, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.
  • Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) for new system implementations, ensuring all functionalities meet business requirements.
  • Provide training and support to users, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

Policies and Procedures Alignment:

  • Stay updated on global and local policies and procedures, identifying gaps in adherence and defining action plans for improvement.
  • Monitor implementation of policies and provide guidance to employees to ensure compliance.
  • Define necessary training interventions and support where required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Project Management, Change Management, IT, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of previous experience in an analytical role
  • Proven experience with HR and Payroll systems, including complex integrations and reporting.
  • Certifications in Project Management, Change Management, and/or Performance Management (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma) preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Power BI, and large-scale ERP/HR systems.

Why Join Us? At DHL you will be part of a dynamic and innovative team that shapes the future of logistics and connects people across the globe. This is your chance to make a significant impact in a role that offers both challenges and rewards.
