Job description

Production Systems Engineer required in Port Elizabeth.

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience in a production environment
  • 2 to 3 years’ experience as a Lead Moderator
  • 2 to 3 years’ experience in leading a cross-divisional team in a workshop environment
  • National Diploma in Industrial Engineering / Diploma Production Management / Diploma Operations Management or a similar technical field
  • Essential
    • A sound knowledge and deep understanding of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and shop floor management cascade methodology
    • Knowledge and understanding of Industrial Engineering techniques i.e. work measurement and method studies
    • Strong planning, organizing, problem-solving and analytical skills
    • Basic engineering design knowledge
    • Intermediate level computer literacy required:
      • Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBi
  • Added Advantage
    • Experience in project and administration management
    • Knowledge of production, logistics and quality processes within an automotive/manufacturing environment

Key Performance Areas:

  • Coordinate the implementation of all production system methods in the Plant
  • Moderating of 3P new model introduction, efficiency improvements, value-stream and problem-solving workshops
  • Support digitalisation activities in the plant in key areas such as safety, quality, volume, people, efficiency, and cost
  • Introducing, chairing and maintaining forums to ensure the sustainable control of production standards within the Plant
  • Represent the company at various forums within the brand and contribute to the strategic planning and decision-making processes globally
  • Support production management with coaching when implementing production systems methods
  • Develop and introduce a production management and staff development plan and ensure all production system methods are included
  • Introduce new and improved productivity and quality methods into production and non-production areas
