Production Systems Engineer required in Port Elizabeth.
Requirements:
- 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience in a production environment
- 2 to 3 years’ experience as a Lead Moderator
- 2 to 3 years’ experience in leading a cross-divisional team in a workshop environment
- National Diploma in Industrial Engineering / Diploma Production Management / Diploma Operations Management or a similar technical field
- Essential
- A sound knowledge and deep understanding of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and shop floor management cascade methodology
- Knowledge and understanding of Industrial Engineering techniques i.e. work measurement and method studies
- Strong planning, organizing, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Basic engineering design knowledge
- Intermediate level computer literacy required:
- Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBi
- Added Advantage
- Experience in project and administration management
- Knowledge of production, logistics and quality processes within an automotive/manufacturing environment
Key Performance Areas:
- Coordinate the implementation of all production system methods in the Plant
- Moderating of 3P new model introduction, efficiency improvements, value-stream and problem-solving workshops
- Support digitalisation activities in the plant in key areas such as safety, quality, volume, people, efficiency, and cost
- Introducing, chairing and maintaining forums to ensure the sustainable control of production standards within the Plant
- Represent the company at various forums within the brand and contribute to the strategic planning and decision-making processes globally
- Support production management with coaching when implementing production systems methods
- Develop and introduce a production management and staff development plan and ensure all production system methods are included
- Introduce new and improved productivity and quality methods into production and non-production areas
