Job Description Responsibilities

  • Manage the activities of the Auditing Technical Discipline to ensure successful project delivery, client satisfaction, sustainable business performance, and motivated staff.
  • Collaborate with the EMPA Operations Manager to balance workload and resources, meeting utilization and productivity targets for successful project outcomes.
  • Coordinate resource allocation for priority bids and projects considering regional sector and client priorities.
  • Assist in managing operational and commercial risks during proposal stages and allocate resources to priority bids.
  • Ensure projects comply with the Region’s Quality Management System (QMS) to manage operational risk.
  • Oversee the technical output of the Technical Discipline, ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Ensure all staff receive adequate technical training within the discipline.
  • Work with the Regional Management Team to build and maintain client relationships and prioritize work-winning activities aligned with strategic client priorities.

Minimum Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in environmental auditing.
  • Honours or Master's degree in Environmental or Natural Sciences or similar qualification.
  • Proactive project management experience, including resource allocation, client liaison, quality assurance, and meeting budget, quality, safety, and time targets.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and auditing processes.
  • Ability to develop and maintain client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience in preparing proposal submissions.
  • Experience across multiple auditing fields such as H&S, EMS, ICMI, IFC, Due Diligence, ICMM, Responsible Sourcing.
  • Worked on projects across various sectors within Africa and South Africa.
  • Ability to produce detailed technical reports proficiently.
  • Experience in growing an auditing team is advantageous.
