To lead a team responsible for the management and analysis of all financial activities; make recommendations in line with Nedbank strategy to enable the business to make informed financial decisions.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage daily activities to ensure accuracy and completeness of financials.
- Conduct business-related activities prior to month-end to ensure the correctness of financial results.
- Track ongoing financial performance by analysing month-end results and reporting to the business and the Group.
- Enable financial performance against targets by identifying deviations and recommending corrective actions or providing justification.
- Ensure business continuity by having processes and systems in place to support all activities.
- Meet internal customer requirements to ensure adherence to service level agreements.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders through regular engagement.
- Participate in internal and external forums and committees to share and acquire understanding of factors influencing the business and the Group.
- Engage and coordinate with the business to translate business strategy into approved financial plans and targets in line with Group and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance by managing adherence to Group Risk and Compliance policies and regulatory requirements.
- Mitigate financial risk by staying abreast of and aligning to changes in accounting standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage the team to achieve deliverables.
- Enhance productivity by identifying, implementing, and supporting process improvements.
- Meet business objectives by making timely and informed decisions.
- Optimize efficiency and embed correct values by ensuring direct reports understand and support Nedbank's vision, values, and strategy, and are measured on delivery against these.
- Manage performance of reports and hold them accountable for managing the performance of their reports by implementing performance agreements, ensuring a clear vision, setting goals and objectives, providing regular feedback, recognizing achievement, and taking corrective actions where needed.

- Drive the execution of own and team members' planned development by attending learning sessions, seeking coaching, or other industry/technical learning opportunities.
- Maintain a high-performing team by identifying talent through career conversations, utilizing talent management principles, and developing retention programs (e.g., rotation).

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
- Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

7 years of financial management experience in the financial services sector and 5 years managing teams.
