The main purpose of this role is to execute and facilitate the RFB process in capital projects.
Ensure the compilation of accurate tender specifications, tender documents, and facilitate the entire tender process until conclusion.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Ensuring that goods & services are procured in alignment with project timelines.
- Ensure goods and services for infrastructure procurement are procured within the defined timelines as per the procurement plan and organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with requesting departments to prepare procurement strategies for infrastructure goods and services.
- Manage project-specific briefing sessions for suppliers of engineering and construction services.
- Plan and implement preferential procurement strategies in capital projects.
- Implement enterprise and supplier development strategies during project execution.
- Conduct market analysis and advise user departments on procurement strategies and methods.
- Liaise with internal clients regarding procurement of infrastructure goods and services.
- Assist in contract management and administration, including maintaining the contract register, reviewing variation orders, and verifying invoices.
- Contribute to policies, procedures, and templates related to procurement.
- Proactively engage stakeholders and keep requesting departments updated on procurement progress.
- Enhance internal controls, risk management, and governance by identifying risks and implementing mitigation measures.
- Ensure timely submission of information for audits and management reports.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- B Degree or B.Tech qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or relevant field.
- An additional qualification in the built environment is advantageous.
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in procurement, preferably within the public sector.
- Proven experience in managing procurement for at least 3 mega construction projects.
- Knowledge of contract types such as FIDIC, NEC3, JBCC.
