Our client is on the lookout for a passionate and professional Field Guide to join a highly regarded safari team committed to delivering world-class immersive guest experiences. This role is about more than just game drives; it’s about guiding with purpose. Our client’s Field Guides are central to shaping each guest’s connection with the natural world through personalised, ethically led, and environmentally conscious experiences that align with international best practices.
We’re seeking someone who brings a high level of humility, professionalism, and adaptability, ensuring every safari is not only unforgettable but also educational and respectful of the environment. A strong focus on lifelong learning and self-development is key; staying up to date with the latest guiding standards, knowledge, and guest engagement strategies is part of the ethos. In addition to delivering exceptional guest experiences, you’ll also be responsible for the care and upkeep of safari vehicles and equipment, clear communication with lodge teams, and a consistent commitment to operational excellence in the field.
Accredited with a CATHSSETA NQF2 or NQF4 Nature Site Guide qualification (both theory and practical components completed). Registered as a guide with the National Department of Tourism (NDT). Valid Trails Guide Certificate VPDA (View Potentially Dangerous Animals). SASSETA Firearms Proficiency Certificates (for guiding in areas requiring rifle competency). Valid South African Code 8 Driver’s License with Public Driver’s Permit (PDP).
