Job description

Reporting to the Vice President, R&D Finance and Business Planning & Evaluation, as the Director, Finance BP - Alliances & Post Deal Management, you will manage external strategic alliances driven through business development and licensing activities. Your role involves providing financial support during negotiations and managing financial aspects post-deal, offering a strategic development opportunity with exposure to senior management. This hybrid position combines onsite and remote work.

Your key relationships include:

• Executive Director, Head of Alliance Management (+Alliance Management Team)
• VP, Global Head of Licensing
• VP, Global Head of Business Development
• VP, Head of Controlling & Reporting, and tax (and team)
• Senior Director, Finance Business Partner Late-Stage Development
• Senior Director, Finance business planning and evaluation (and team)
• Heads of finance for CSL’s operating segments (CSL Behring, CSL Seqirus, CSL Vifor)

The Role:

Build strong relationships with R&D Leadership, Business Development, Alliance Management, and external finance partners. Lead CSL’s R&D Finance Business Partnering for alliance assets, ensuring financial responsibilities are met. Oversee Quarterly Post Deal Management governance, maintain a database of financial obligations, and collaborate with external partners and internal teams to support financial governance and reporting. Perform financial modeling, analysis, and support strategic decision-making and portfolio management.

Core activities include:

• Supporting quarterly forecasts and annual planning cycles.
• Driving financial planning and reporting for CSL Alliances.
• Providing insights during deal processes and keeping leadership informed of developments.
• Managing financial obligations, reporting, and strategic guidance for alliances.
• Developing best practices for finance capabilities and complex business analysis.

Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's in accounting, finance, or related; MBA or advanced degree preferred; professional certification desirable.
• 10+ years in finance, including business partnering, budgeting, forecasting, alliance finance, and portfolio finance, preferably in Pharma R&D or similar industry.
• Leadership experience, ability to influence cross-functional teams, and strong interpersonal skills.
• Expertise in financial modeling, M&A, deal support, and negotiation experience is advantageous.
