Job description

ROLE PURPOSE

To operate heavy equipment, specifically TLBs, and be responsible for safely and efficiently executing excavation, trenching, loading, and backfilling tasks on site.

MAIN OUTPUTS

1. Operate and maintain a TLB in a safe and efficient manner.
2. Perform excavation, trenching, loading, and backfilling tasks as per project requirements.
3. Follow safety protocols and ensure all equipment is operated according to manufacturer guidelines.
4. Communicate with team members and supervisors to ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.
5. Perform routine maintenance on equipment and report any issues to the maintenance team.
6. Adhere to all site regulations and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

The applicant must meet the following requirements:

1. Grade 12 (Technical Matric advantageous).
2. Valid TLB Operator certification or license.
3. At least 3 years of relevant experience as a TLB Operator.
4. Ability to operate a TLB in various conditions, including rough terrain and tight spaces.
5. Physical ability to work in a demanding outdoor environment for extended periods.
6. Knowledge of various types of heavy equipment.
7. Mining industry experience.
8. Relevant on-site training (SOP training, HIRA, Fatigue management).
