Job description

Join a leading provider in the mineral exploration drilling industry and deliver specialised training programmes for the Underground Core Drilling team to ensure full compliance with industry standard mine regulations and safety protocols. Please note this position is based in Mokopane.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and deliver comprehensive technical, operational, and safety training programs for underground drilling personnel through both classroom and practical sessions.
2. Ensure that all training activities are aligned with industry regulations, mine-specific requirements, and promote a strong safety culture.
3. Emphasize risk assessment and hazard management in all training sessions.
4. Conduct evaluations to assess trainees' skills and knowledge.
5. Provide constructive feedback and recommend skills development strategies.
6. Develop and review training materials based on industry advancements and regulatory changes.
7. Implement, manage, and update online training document systems to enhance accessibility and learning efficiency.
8. Maintain accurate training records and monitor trainees' progress using learning management systems (LMS).
9. Analyze workplace incidents to identify root causes and develop targeted training solutions to prevent recurrence.
10. Work closely with management, clients, and regulatory bodies to identify training needs and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
11. Ensure trainees are proficient in operating specialised core drilling equipment.
12. Utilise simulation technologies to enhance practical training.
13. Evaluate training effectiveness and implement improvements to enhance workforce capabilities, safety, and efficiency.
14. Able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Qualifications / Experience

1. Grade 12 / N3 or equivalent.
2. Trade certificate or underground blasting ticket.
3. Must be a registered assessor.
4. Certification in training and development relevant fields will be an advantage (e.g., moderator).
5. Relevant National Diploma in training-related fields will be an advantage.
6. Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Training Officer in the underground mining environment.
7. Strong knowledge of drilling equipment.
8. Valid EB / Code 8 Drivers License.
