Our client has a long history of success in the Johannesburg CBD and boasts an impressive retail and commercial portfolio. They have an extensive record of buying and renovating properties and take pride in managing their entire portfolio and facilities in-house. To join their multi-faceted team, they are seeking a dynamic individual to drive their collections and assist in all manner of legal advisory and drafting work.

Reporting to the Managing Director, this temporary role will be based full-time in their high-quality offices in Marshalltown. While most of the role will involve spearheading their rental collections function, you will also need to manage their in-house legal team. Responsibilities include managing external attorneys, drafting legal agreements, assisting with contract vetting and negotiation of SLAs, and providing legal support to the facilities, leasing, and development teams. A strong understanding of legal frameworks within the property sector, coupled with effective collections strategies, will be essential for success in this role.

The ideal candidate is an admitted attorney with 2 to 3 years of post-admission experience. Experience managing legal aspects of property leasing, rental agreements, and staying updated on property-related litigation is highly advantageous. The role is suitable for any detail-oriented legal professional capable of managing large commercial rental spaces efficiently.
