Job summary

Job description

Purpose

To implement the Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) management system, ensure compliance with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, and relevant SHE legislation. To ensure compliance and continual improvement of the SHE management system. Working through management, embed a proactive safety culture in pursuit of zero harm.

Main Responsibilities (not Limited To)
  1. Support the SHE manager in developing SHE strategies, policies, procedures, and processes to embed the desired SHE culture.
  2. Assist in implementing, monitoring, and improving an effective SHE management system.
  3. Ensure all work activities within SABN comply with applicable SHE legislative requirements, policies, and procedures.
  4. Maintain and improve processes and procedures to minimize SHE incident risks.
  5. Implement SHE emergency preparedness and response plans.
  6. Develop and execute SHE awareness programs to foster SHE culture.
  7. Participate in planning and conducting internal and external SHE audits.
  8. Identify gaps in ISO 14001:2018 and ISO 45001:2015 standards and implement corrective actions.
  9. Evaluate SHE risk assessments and support departments in risk mitigation.
  10. Coordinate incident management processes and ensure effective implementation.
  11. Maintain and enhance contractor management processes to reduce SHE-related risks.
  12. Monitor and report on the company's SHE performance.
  13. Manage SHE administrative processes.
  14. Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards in line with legal requirements.
  15. Perform SHE ad hoc duties as required.
The Preferred Candidate Is Likely To Have
  1. National Diploma in Environmental Health, Safety Management, occupational health and safety, or a related qualification (Essential).
  2. SHE legislation training or qualification.
  3. Contractor or construction management training.
  4. Occupational hygiene training.
  5. SHE Risk Assessment and Incident Investigation experience.
  6. 2-3 years of relevant experience in a SHE manufacturing environment.
Knowledge And Skills
  1. Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments (HIRA).
  2. Risk mitigation strategies.
  3. Knowledge of SHE legislation.
  4. Root cause analysis and incident investigations.
  5. ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
  6. Chemical handling.
  7. First aid, firefighting, and emergency response training.
  8. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
