Job Title: Production Manager - Injection Moulding

Our client is seeking an experienced Production Manager to join the Port Elizabeth team.

1. Responsibilities:
2. Manage and coordinate daily production activities within the injection moulding department.
3. Lead, motivate, and supervise production staff to meet output targets and quality standards.
4. Ensure proper setup, operation, and maintenance of injection moulding machines and related mechanical equipment.
5. Monitor production schedules, workflow, and resources to ensure timely delivery of products.
6. Implement and monitor health and safety procedures, ensuring compliance with OHSA and company regulations.
7. Minimise downtime by proactively identifying and resolving mechanical and process-related issues.
8. Collaborate with maintenance, quality control, and tooling teams to improve operational efficiency.
9. Analyse production metrics and reports to drive continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
10. Ensure product quality by overseeing inspections and working closely with the quality assurance team.
11. Train and develop staff on injection moulding processes, machinery, and safety practices.
12. Manage raw material usage, waste reduction, and inventory controls.
13. Participate in capital equipment planning and factory upgrades.

1. Minimum Requirements:

3. National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
4. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a production management role, specifically in injection moulding
5. Strong mechanical background with experience in troubleshooting and maintaining injection moulding machines
6. Proven leadership and team management skills
7. Strong understanding of production planning, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement
8. Working knowledge of ISO standards and quality control systems
