Job Title: Sous Chef

Our client is seeking an experienced and qualified Sous Chef to join their team in Johannesburg East.

Requirements

1. At least 1 year of experience as a Sous Chef
2. Matric
3. Formal degree/diploma in culinary arts or ARPL Test from a reputable institution (must have verifiable certificate)
4. Computer literacy (MS Office, etc.)
5. Experience in a similar field

This position involves handling money; therefore, background checks will be conducted.

Work Conditions

Shift work and long hours are required.

Job Duties

• Assist with kitchen management alongside the executive chef
• Maintain and implement hygiene standards
• Assist with stock-taking
• Create and maintain recipes
• Perform various kitchen duties including meal preparation, following recipes, and ensuring food quality

Additional Responsibilities

Ensure all work aligns with brand standards, maintaining consistency and quality of service, with a focus on food safety and occupational health and safety.

Lead and manage the kitchen team, fostering teamwork to achieve business objectives and developing team skills and knowledge.

Salary

R25,000 - R26,000 CTC. Mandatory deductions for partial medical aid and pension.
