Retail Credit Analyst
Purpose: To assess and make decisions on credit applications within prescribed credit policies, procedures, and risk parameters.
- Facilitate the first release payout process.
- Focus on dealer relationship management and contribute to the company's overall profitability, in compliance with company policies and internal control systems.
- Perform the CPU final release function.
Key Accountabilities
- Perform credit risk assessment and financial analysis on corporate and individual client applications.
- Adhere to service levels and turnaround times to support business strategies.
- Evaluate all aspects related to credit risk and derive sound credit decisions.
- Stay informed about market trends, process updates, and credit policy changes.
- Maintain an objective and consistent approach to credit assessment.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external business partners.
- Finalize payout releases and verify mandatory documents.
- Respond to emails, CIC emails, and handle inbound and outbound calls.
- Engage in self-development through training programs and on-the-job training.
- Provide input and recommendations for process improvements and system enhancements.
- Support automation, efficiencies, and process optimization initiatives.
- Adhere to internal control systems and contribute to identifying and mitigating process gaps.
- Perform other tasks as required by management to adapt to environmental changes, business needs, or to protect the company's reputation and financial interests.
Educational Background / Professional Knowledge and Experience / Other Skills
- Credit qualification or BCom degree (or equivalent).
- 3-5 years of experience in end-to-end credit functions.
- Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in credit management.
- Understanding of vehicle asset finance and home loans (if applicable).
- Knowledge of NCA / FAIS compliance is advantageous.
- Understanding of asset-based finance, corporate, and home loans.
- Ability to analyze financial statements and interpret ratios.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong administrative skills with attention to detail.
- Persuasion, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation such as NCA, FICA, FAIS, etc.
