Job description

The primary purpose of the role is to prospect new business clients. This will be for both direct and broker business. The incumbent is expected to present the company to potential clients (direct or broker).

Responsibilities :

  1. Build and develop new business introductions and relationships.
  2. Recognize and develop opportunities to the advantage of the organization.
  3. Develop and document engagement strategies, follow up with regular meetings and communication, and provide feedback to relevant departments.
  4. Finalize new fund or review documents and sign proposals.
  5. Submit documents to relevant departments for implementation.
  6. Achieve set targets, monitored and reviewed regularly.
  7. Request risk quotations, establish SLAs with providers, and follow up to ensure timely responses.
  8. Compile cost comparisons for clients to facilitate informed decisions.
  9. Complete proposal documents and member summaries within 48 hours of receiving all necessary information; address queries within 24 hours.
  10. Ensure attendance lists are completed and filed according to FAIS requirements.
  11. Manage team diaries and travel logistics.
  12. Attend industry events and networking sessions as approved.
  13. Introduce client relations consultants, explain processes, and define roles.
  14. Conduct member presentations with client relations consultants at least annually or bi-annually.
  15. Follow up on member booklets and fund management issues.
  16. Establish relationships with unions and representatives, providing feedback to management.
  17. Participate in employer work forums such as Occupational Health and Safety and Employment Equity.

New Business Acquisition

  1. Prospect a minimum of three new clients weekly, directly or indirectly.
  2. Develop engagement strategies for new clients.
  3. Present the company's value proposition to new and existing clients.
  4. Build and develop new business relationships.
  5. Prepare and deliver member presentations.

Business Retention

  1. Meet with employers to establish management committees, coordinate meetings, and record minutes.
  2. Obtain and compare risk quotations for annual reviews.
  3. Arrange client meetings for feedback and relationship maintenance.
  4. Maintain relationships with risk providers and hold quarterly update meetings.

Administration

  1. Complete proposal documents within 48 hours of receiving all information.
  2. Ensure attendance lists are filed per FAIS requirements.
  3. Write and submit reports post-meetings.
  4. Keep records of all communications.
  5. Assist with external marketing event coordination and logistics.
  6. Distribute marketing materials.
  7. Attend industry events and networking sessions as approved.

Client Relations

  • Maintain and improve good client relations.
  • Handle customer complaints professionally and effectively.
