Job description

Our client, a successful and busy, medium sized auditing and accounting practice, is looking for a client-oriented Chartered Accountant to join their team, based in Northern Suburbs CT.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Auditing: Scrutinising financial statements meticulously to ensure accuracy, compliance with regulations, and the absence of fraud or misrepresentation.
  • Taxation: Calculating and filing tax returns for businesses, trusts and individuals, advising on complex tax laws, and strategising for optimal tax efficiency.
  • Financial Reporting: Preparing financial statements that present a true and fair view of a company's financial health, ensuring adherence to accounting standards.
  • Management Accounting: Analysing costs, budgets, and performance data to support strategic decision-making.
  • Business Consulting: Providing strategic advice on mergers, acquisitions, financial restructuring, and other critical business matters.
  • Day to day practice management: managing a team of 15 staffin collaboration with a practice manager and business partner.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • CA(SA) (required) and RA (preferred); registered tax practitioner (good standing).
  • 10 years post qualifying experience (PQE) preferred, 5 years PQE minimum.
  • Up to date comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of tax.
  • IFRS and specifically IFRS for SMEs.
  • Knowledge of PPRA, FCA and LPC audit and reporting
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good at practice and personal administration.
  • Good at managing and controlling staff.
  • Problem solving attitude.
  • Client service orientation.
