A prestigious creative institution with a global footprint is seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of HR to join its leadership team in Cape Town. This role presents an exciting opportunity for an individual who appreciates the cultural sector and can align HR strategy with the organisation's artistic vision and broader business goals.
Key Responsibilities :
- Accountable for all HR and labour relations globally (South Africa, London, and New York)
- Oversee employee relations and ensure positive workplace cultures across locations
- Design, oversee, and implement HR policies, procedures, and programs across all locations
- Lead recruitment processes
- Manage performance management and disciplinary actions
- Provide documentation for labour-related matters
- Ensure HR compliance and risk management
- Lead skills development, training strategy implementation, and reporting
- Manage HR programs including employee wellness, benefits, and compensation
- Provide strategic guidance on organizational design and workforce planning
- Partner with directors to implement organizational change, change management, and restructuring
- Foster diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives reflecting the global presence
- Manage global mobility programs
Requirements
- HR Qualification or Bachelor's Degree minimum
- Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRMSCP, SPHR, CIPD)
- At least 5 years of experience working as an HR Manager
- International HR experience (preferred but not essential)
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with high Emotional Intelligence (EQ)
- Problemsolving and decision-making skills
- Empathy and confidentiality
- Strong organizational skills managing multiple HR functions and deadlines
- Negotiation, conflict resolution, and mediation skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with leadership, finance, and other departments
- Experience with HR analytics
- Experience in a creative or cultural sector (preferred but not essential)
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively across diverse environments
The proposed salary for the role is around R70k to R80k per month, but the client reserves the right to offer a market-related salary based on the candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience.
