Job description

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Marine Structural Engineer to support the design and assessment of coastal and offshore infrastructure, including wharves, jetties, caissons, breakwaters, and floating structures.

This role will focus on structural design under complex loading conditions—wave, current, berthing, seismic—and will require coordination with geotechnical, coastal, and marine disciplines.

Key Responsibilities :
  1. Lead structural design of marine infrastructure using relevant codes (e.g., BS, Eurocode, API, PIANC)
  2. Perform static and dynamic structural analysis, including wave and berthing impact loads
  3. Evaluate corrosion protection, fatigue performance, and structural detailing for marine environments
  4. Coordinate with geotechnical engineers on foundation design (piles, caissons, gravity structures)
  5. Prepare design reports, specifications, and construction documentation
  6. Support tendering, fabrication review, and site construction queries
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in marine structural design and delivery
  • Chartered or working towards Chartership (ICE, IStructE or equivalent)
  • Strong proficiency with structural analysis tools (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP, SACS, or similar)
  • Familiarity with marine construction methods and materials (steel, concrete, hybrid)
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary project environments, ideally on international projects
  • Excellent technical report writing and communication skills
