Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with solid experience in hydro generator systems and associated cooling equipment.

This role focuses on the mechanical engineering aspects of generators, including housing, rotor / stator integration, and thermal management systems, ensuring operational efficiency and reliability in hydro generation stations.

Key Responsibilities :
  1. Lead mechanical design reviews for hydro generators, stators, rotors, and auxiliaries
  2. Evaluate generator cooling systems (air, hydrogen, or water-cooled) and ventilation design
  3. Coordinate closely with electrical engineers on integration of electromechanical systems
  4. Manage specifications and vendor interfaces for mechanical generator systems
  5. Support installation, alignment, and mechanical performance testing
  6. Review OEM documentation and ensure compliance with project requirements and standards
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in hydro or large rotating electrical machinery
  • Strong understanding of generator mechanical design principles and cooling strategies
  • Experience working with OEMs on generator system procurement and testing
  • Familiarity with generator codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, ASME)
  • Proficient in interpreting mechanical stress, vibration, and thermal analyses
  • Excellent coordination skills with electrical and control teams
