Responsibilities

What we’re looking for:

  • Selling of essential products to customers according to AOP
  • Trade Route: Swellendam, Mossel Bay, Oudtshoorn, Karoo, and Beauford West
  • Maintain market/forward share and strategize with customers
  • Negotiate SOV on leaflets and social media adverts
  • Maintain merchandising standards
  • Maintain budget spending and space for our brands
  • Volume budget
  • Ad spend budget
  • Order placement through clerks/Pace
  • Build and maintain relationships
  • Stock control and rotation (handling of short-dated stock & plans to sell out)
  • Negotiate space and price within parameters (understanding customer expectations on margins)
  • Understand margins, net costs, and setting of RSPs
  • Minimize returns
  • Follow up on orders and logistics
  • Handle debtor queries, payments, claims, and pricing
  • Strategic thinking regarding opposition brands
  • Merchandising
  • Execute sales & marketing campaigns (themes)
  • Focus on selling direct trucks vs depot orders
  • Monitor marketing signage
  • Pallet control - discussion with customers (Chep)
Qualifications

What will qualify you for the role:

  • 3-year qualification in Sales and Marketing or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in grains/wheat or rice sales (raw material)
  • Key account promotional strategy experience
  • Financial literacy experience
  • Knowledge of the business
  • Negotiating abilities
  • Understanding margins
  • Strategic thinking
