Job description

We are excited to share a fantastic opportunity for a Chief Accounting Officer at our client in the automotive industry.

PURPOSE OF POSITION :

The Head of Accounting will lead all day-to-day finance operations and supervise a team of staff members including functional responsibility over accounting, accounts payable, and financial reporting. The Head of Accounting will ensure that the company has the systems and procedures in place to support effective program implementation and conduct flawless audits.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  1. Oversee and lead the Accounting Section, including monthly reporting, annual audits, and planning processes. Coordinate external audit activities, review financial plans and processes, and ensure reporting systems reflect actual, budget, and forecast information. Keep senior leadership informed of the organization’s financial status.
  2. Ensure all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems comply with IFRS, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. Lead financial projects, system changes, and developments.
  3. Manage the Accounts Payable team (Procure to Pay), ensure timely payments to suppliers, monitor aging reports, and collaborate with Treasury on financial positioning and cash flow planning. Lead financial project implementation and establish systems to support operations.
  4. Mentor and develop the Accounting team, overseeing work allocation, training, performance evaluation, and team building.
  5. Manage the company’s tax portfolio, ensuring compliance with VAT, Corporate Income Tax, Transfer Pricing, Customs duties, and other relevant regulations.
  6. Oversee the preparation of Annual Financial Statements for the company and its subsidiaries.
  7. Develop tools and systems to provide financial and operational insights to the CFO, and recommend strategies and operational improvements.
  8. Monitor compliance with Group Policies and maintain good relationships with regional offices as the company liaison.
