Job description

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced FP&A Specialist to join a high-performing finance team based in Bellville, Cape Town. This critical role will focus on group financial consolidation, IFRS compliance, and advanced financial modelling, supporting strategic decision-making at the highest level.

You must be a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) with demonstrable IFRS expertise.

Success in this role means taking full ownership of group-level financial reporting and consolidation, ensuring strict adherence to IFRS standards, and producing clear, actionable insights. You will:

  • Operate confidently and precisely, drawing on strong technical knowledge to support complex reporting needs.
  • Build and maintain robust financial models that support forecasting, budgeting, and long-term strategic planning.
  • Be a trusted finance partner to senior leadership, providing clear analysis, identifying trends and risks, and influencing strategic direction.
  • Proactively seek to improve reporting processes, increasing both efficiency and accuracy.
  • Thrive in a collaborative environment while bringing a strong sense of independence, responsibility, and initiative.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consolidate financial statements across multiple entities, ensuring full IFRS compliance
  • Lead or support IFRS-related projects and technical accounting reviews
  • Maintain group-level technical accounting frameworks and coordinate with auditors
  • Prepare and review monthly management accounts with in-depth variance analysis
  • Build and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning
  • Deliver financial insights that influence business strategy and operational planning
  • Enhance reporting processes and implement improvements to financial workflows
  • Support audit processes with timely, accurate data
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial information across systems

Qualifications & Experience

  • Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) – essential
  • Over 2–5 years’ experience in FP&A, financial consolidation, and management reporting
  • Significant hands-on experience with IFRS and group reporting
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modelling
  • Strong working knowledge of financial systems such as Sage Intact or Idu
  • Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to translate numbers into strategy
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly when engaging non-finance stakeholders
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
  • Must be based in Cape Town
