We are seeking a Junior Analyst to assist us with various functions of our corporate finance pillar.
The candidate will be responsible for financial modelling (training to be provided), financial analysis and evaluation, research, valuation, post-transaction portfolio management support, and value addition in line with the firm's service offering. The company is based in Fourways, South Africa.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate strong investment performance and value addition in the Fund through:
- Financial modelling and forecasting (training to be provided);
- Industry and market research report writing;
- Assessing the financial viability of an investment through either light financial analysis or full-scale financial due diligence;
- Provide an independent valuation analysis that provides objective valuation ranges using formal valuation methodologies;
- Review the business model viability of investee companies utilizing techniques such as Porter’s 5 Forces;
- Use scenario analysis to assess the impact of operating decisions on investment returns;
- Determine the feasibility and potential value creation plans through commercial due diligence;
- Manage the workstreams of the monitoring analyst in the post-monitoring division;
- Compile monthly and quarterly investment reports on clients' portfolio companies, reflecting an in-depth understanding of the company and external market drivers.

- Ability to conduct industry research, formulate and critically evaluate investment theses, interrogate and analyze information, articulate opinions, and produce excellent reports;
- Good financial modelling skills (further training to be provided);
- Strong numerical skills;
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of value drivers;
- Presentation and communication skills;
- Proficiency with software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook;
- Ability to work independently and in a team;
- Work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in corporate finance and financial analysis, with the following qualifications:
- Postgraduate Degree in Accounting and/or Finance (or related field with relevant experience);
- CFA Level 1 is advantageous;
Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience, including:
- Knowledge of alternative investment strategies such as buyouts, growth equity, and BEE transactions;
- Exposure to corporate finance, investment banking, leveraged finance, transaction advisory, or M&A;
- Experience in research, complex analysis, forecasting, valuation, financial statement analysis, and report writing.

REMUNERATION
R30k to R40k per month CTC plus performance bonus. Final salary depends on experience.
