Job description

Client based in Woodstock is currently looking for a Production Supervisor on a contract basis

Requirements:

1. Matric with a minimum of 50% pass
2. Proven experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
3. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team
4. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges
5. Knowledge of production processes, equipment, and quality control standards
6. Familiarity with safety regulations and protocols in a manufacturing setting
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software applications

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization

Responsibilities:

1. Supervision: Directly manage and lead production line staff, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure optimal performance
2. Production Oversight: Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards, production schedules, and output targets
3. Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for all staff members
4. Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure proper functioning of machinery and promptly address any technical issues to minimize downtime
5. Inventory Management: Collaborate with the inventory control department to maintain accurate inventory levels and prevent shortages or overages
6. Process Improvement: Identify areas for process optimization and implement solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity
7. Training and Development: Enhance staff skills, knowledge, and adherence to procedures
8. Reporting: Prepare regular reports on production performance, including output and any issues or concerns, for management review
9. Communication: Foster open communication channels between production line staff and other departments to facilitate coordination and problem-solving
10. Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures and conduct inspections to ensure products meet specifications and customer requirements
