Job Description: Payments Controller

The payments controller is responsible for overseeing the creditors team, as well as the administration and processing of transport evidence and submissions to facilitate payments for suppliers and transporters.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Management: Oversee the data capturing team and their processing of data on the ERP/SAP system. Ensure timely capture and verification of proof of delivery (POD), logbooks, load sheets, invoices, and payment requisitions.
  2. Reconciliations: Perform diesel usage reconciliations for different routes and collaborate with the diesel team for verification. Separate transporter routes for long and short distances to apply correct rates and ensure billing accuracy.
  3. Auditing and Reporting: Audit documentation and processes to minimize errors, including verifying PODs, documents, invoices, and internal compliance. Assist in compiling transport payment reports as needed.
  4. Payment Process Coordination: Manage the end-to-end process of paying transporter and supplier invoices to prevent delays that could affect service delivery.
  5. Queries Management: Act as the first point of contact for transport payment queries from transporters and internal stakeholders. Ensure timely responses to avoid payment delays.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Bookkeeping
