Senior Network Engineer

Role Description

This technical role is responsible for providing high-quality and timely network management support to ensure the availability, stability, and performance of data centers, cloud platforms, and corporate systems.

Organisational Design

This position is part of the CIO department and reports to the regional Head of Cloud Infrastructure Management.

Specific Role Responsibilities

  • Design: Ensure network environments are designed according to best practice standards for resilience and availability to maintain high SLAs.
  • Availability: Meet uptime SLAs monthly by managing issue logs, performing scheduled maintenance, and minimizing disruptions.
  • Performance: Monitor network performance, capacity, and growth; suggest and implement improvements to meet performance SLAs.
  • Information Security: Maintain network security by following policies, implementing controls, conducting risk assessments, and documenting for audits.
  • Business Continuity: Ensure backups are performed and tested; participate in BCP & DR tests; keep documentation up-to-date.
  • Training: Develop technical skills and mentor team members.
  • Project Work: Implement projects within timelines, collaborating with multinational teams.
  • Budget: Recommend cost-saving measures in your areas of responsibility.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent industry certifications and relevant experience.
  • CCNP certifications; F5 XC advantageous.

Network management experience supporting:

  • 5+ years in campus networks, data center LAN, firewalls.
  • Cloud networking support.
  • Familiarity with Cloud, LAN, WAN, WLAN, SAN, VoIP networks.
  • Subnetting, routing protocols, network redundancy, load balancing, BGP.
  • Network security, access control, telephony, management tools, documentation, performance, patching, VPNs, network hardening, hypervisor networking.

  • Cisco, F5, Checkpoint, Fortinet, Solarwinds, VMware, Microsoft, Linux, Azure, AWS.
