Job description

Our Client, a Global tech firm, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join their team in Rosebank (4 days a week onsite) on a contract basis. They offer stability, growth, attractive rates, and a great working environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage project initiation by developing and ensuring the project charter approval, identifying and engaging stakeholders.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, schedules, weekly reports, and meeting actions.
  • Ensure that all project documentation is accurate and up to date in the PMO Toolset as well as project folders.
  • Identify, manage, and communicate changes (risks, issues, actions, and decisions) that may affect the project.
  • Manage project team members by delegating tasks and setting expectations for performance. Monitor resource allocation, timelines, and other key metrics to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Facilitate meetings with stakeholders to ensure effective communication about projects. Monitor and control work input and scope to ensure that all projects remain on track and in control.
  • Ensure the projects and activities are executed in the most efficient and agile way based on agreed company methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Plan and manage stakeholders, scope, activities, conflict resolution, and approach in and across a highly matrixed global organization through direct interaction and communication, regular status reports, and personally managing escalations when necessary.
  • Report on financial progress of the project, control variances, and ensure approvals.
  • Follow the change methodology, participate, facilitate, drive the deliverables, and manage feedback with senior leadership on the project to ensure successful adoption.

Change Management Experience:

  • Apply a structured methodology (ADKAR, PROSCI) and lead change management activities.
  • Leverage a change management methodology, process, and tools to create a strategy to support adoption of the changes required by a project or initiative.
  • Assess the change impact and conduct stakeholder analysis.
  • Conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness, and identify key stakeholders.
  • Provide input, document requirements, and support the design and delivery of training programs.

Qualifications:

  • PMP or similar project management certification is a must-have.
  • Proficient in MS Project and other scheduling tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in project management, IT, business management, or related field.
  • Must have at least 10 years of relevant work experience at a senior level managing major projects and leading teams in large, complex projects.
  • Experienced in delivery that includes the use of external suppliers and offshore/remote resources.
  • More than 10 years of experience in project governance and/or working with a PMO environment.
  • Experience in participating in and/or driving change management as part of the project.
  • Communicating with senior stakeholders (Steercoms, status reporting, weekly meetings).
