Innovata Pharmaceuticals, which is part of the Avacare Health group is looking for a Financial Accountant to join our team. This position is based in Ormonde, Johannesburg.

Job Overview:

Purpose of the job:

The incumbent will be responsible for financial audits, reconciling bank statements, and ensuring financial records are accurate throughout the year. Provide Management with accurate quantitative information on financial position, liquidity and cash flows of our business, while ensuring compliance with all tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting Processes:
• Maintain accurate accounting records in compliance with the standards (IAS & IFRS).
• Prepare and compile monthly management accounts and financial reports for OPCOs and board packs.
• Timeous costing of imported inventory.
• Perform monthly analytical reviews on accounting records to ensure that all general ledger accounts are free of material misstatements
• Monitor the company's operating and capital expenditure to ensure they are within budget.
• Maintain the fixed asset register in compliance with IFRS16 and perform a FAR recon to ensure that the FAR agrees to PPE in the balance sheet and agrees to the relevant sections in the income statement.
• Review debtors and creditors accounts to ensure accuracy, and review inventory items to ensure accuracy of their valuation.
• Provide support to the warehouse and customer service departments with monitoring credit notes with the objective to reduce the volumes of credit notes passed.
• Plan and execute internal and external audits to ensure all audit timelines are met.
• Perform annual income statement, balance sheet and CAPEX budgets.
• Directly responsible for cash flow management. Responsible for compliance with banking, foreign exchange and tax regulations.
• Ensures supplier reconciliations and payments to suppliers are made timeously.
• Ensure payments are loaded on the bank for authorisation.
• Maintains or builds good communication and relationships with customers (internal and external), suppliers, vendors and banks (both in verbal and written form).

Reports and month-end and financial year-end reconciliation:
• Takes responsibility for financial reporting and prepares financial reports for month end and financial year end.
• Reconcile group and related party loans and trade accounts.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations monthly.
• Perform and report on cash flow forecasts on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Ensures successful completion of AFS and audit processes.
• Ensures the company complies with any additional laws and regulations applicable.

Statutory Reports:
• Ensures that all statutory returns are submitted and timeous payment thereof.
• Perform statutory reconciliations such as VAT, Employee Taxes, and Income Tax.

Treasury:
• Perform Treasury functions, i.e., create/amend bank beneficiaries, upload payments on the online banking platform, and regular audits of the bank beneficiaries to ensure accuracy of bank accounts to protect the entity from risk of fraud, and ensure that all the Treasury functions follow the Group's policies.

Desired skills, experience and qualifications:
• Minimum BCOM (Accounting major) or equivalent Accounting Degree or advanced Diploma
• At least 5 years' work experience as a Financial Accountant.
• Sound and up to date knowledge of accounting standards (IAS and IFRS).
• Advance knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software (SAGE Evolution knowledge advantageous, but not essential).
• Time and project management skills.
• Proven track record of delivering compliance within the finance structure.
• Good communication skills
• Ability to multitask and shift priorities as and when required
