Business Development Director | Head of Sales (L&D Solutions)

Location:

Remote/Hybrid (South Africa) | Occasional Local & International Travel

Salary:

R65K - R90K CTC/month + Commission/incentives

Introduction:

Are you a bold, visionary dealmaker ready to land enterprise-level sales in the Learning & Development space? We are seeking a Business Development Director (or Head of Sales) with a proven track record of securing high-value, long-term partnerships. This role is ideal for a strategic sales professional who can engage C-suite stakeholders, develop tailored L&D solutions, and consistently close deals exceeding R1m.

About the Company:

You will join a respected national training provider known for innovation, credibility, and impactful programmes. You will play a pivotal role in expanding its footprint locally and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Identify and close large-scale corporate partnerships across various sectors such as retail, FMCG, financial services, and hospitality.
  2. Build trusted relationships at the executive level and act as a strategic advisor.
  3. Develop and tailor complex L&D solutions aligned with QCTO standards and client needs.
  4. Collaborate with product and delivery teams to shape client-specific offerings.
  5. Influence go-to-market strategies, brand positioning, and sales capabilities.
  6. Represent the company at senior stakeholder engagements, including international meetings.
  7. Prepare to lead and develop a high-performing sales team in the future.
Candidate Profile:
  1. Proven success in complex B2B sales, preferably within L&D or HRTech sectors.
  2. Strong understanding of corporate learning environments and QCTO standards.
  3. Strategic thinker who thrives on autonomy and high expectations.
  4. Experience engaging with large corporate clients at boardroom level.
  5. Comfortable managing long sales cycles and high-pressure targets.
  6. Exceptional skills in presentation, proposal development, and negotiation.
  7. Willingness and ability to travel locally and internationally.
Preferred Extras:
  1. Existing client network in target sectors.
  2. Experience launching new solutions or entering new markets.
  3. Previous experience leading sales teams.
