Job description

We’re looking for an experienced Safety Officer / Manager to ensure compliance, champion a culture of safety, and support operational excellence on the grounds of an established manufacturing business in East London!

Ideal candidates will have strong knowledge of OHS regulations, a hands-on approach to audits and inspections, and a passion for driving a safety-first culture.

You’ll be responsible for :

  • Monitoring and enforcing health and safety procedures across the site
  • Conducting regular audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations
  • Facilitating employee safety training and maintaining safety records
  • Supporting continuous improvement of safety systems and practices

Minimum Requirements :

  • Relevant safety certifications g., SAMTRAC, HIRA, Incident Investigations (NQ4 or higher)
  • At least 2 years in a similar senior safety-focused role within a manufacturing environment (brick / concrete / cement manufacturing experience is highly advantageous)
  • Thorough knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations essential
  • Strong communication, planning, and report-writing skills
  • Resilient, detail-oriented, and confident in decision-making under pressure
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills and the ability to get buy-in from individuals across the organisation
