We’re seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our client’s team and drive financial excellence across multiple entities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage the full financial function of multiple statutory entities
2. Prepare consolidated Management Accounts in line with deadlines, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
3. Conduct cashflow reporting and forecasting
4. Prepare consolidated Statement of Financial Position and manage audit files
5. Ensure journal entries are accurate
6. Update income tax and deferred tax calculations
7. Maintain the fixed asset register on a rolling basis
8. Compile financial reports for business management
9. Report monthly to the executive committee
10. Analyze financial results of business units/cost centres against budgets, investigating variances
11. Reconcile and submit VAT and PAYE returns
12. Liaise with SARS and tax practitioners on tax issues
13. Coordinate year-end audits with external auditors
14. Manage creditors reconciliations and payments, review and approve all payments
15. Review cash cycle and bank reconciliations
16. Communicate with banks regarding financing and banking issues
17. Coordinate with franchisors
18. Plan and coordinate the annual budget process
19. Perform ad hoc tasks as assigned by the CFO

People Management:

• Manage a team of over 10 accountants
• Supervise a three-member Creditors Team
• Provide leadership and structure to the team
• Coach and mentor team members
• Conduct performance evaluations and manage team development

Qualifications:

• Minimum B.Comm degree or equivalent
• Technical accounting knowledge (IFRS); GAAP experience advantageous
• Experience with Evolution or other accounting software
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
