Job description

Commercial Contracts Manager – Team Lead

The Mimecast Business Legal team is seeking a Commercial Contracts Manager – Team Lead to join our dynamic, fast-paced, global legal team. This full-time role based in Johannesburg requires shift work.

As a key member supporting all Mimecast regions, you will need strong analytical skills, the ability to assess and mitigate contractual risk, excellent communication skills, and the capacity to work to high standards within tight deadlines.

This energetic, solution-driven environment involves negotiating contracts across various industry sectors and collaborating with key stakeholders and business partners as part of the wider deal support desk.

What You'll Do :
  1. Supervise and manage a small team of commercial contract managers.
  2. Report weekly to Senior Counsel on team bandwidth and issues.
  3. Manage rosters and work allocation.
  4. Ensure compliance with company contracting policies, processes, and procedures.
  5. Review and negotiate standard contractual redlines.
  6. Handle customer contracts, BAAs (HIPAA), DPAs (POPIA, GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA), partner agreements, and NDAs.
  7. Draft, review, and finalize contracts and legal approvals.
  8. Support the deal support desk for contractual changes.
  9. Triasge legal support requests and monitor Slack channels for contractual queries.
  10. Assist with RFI/RFP responses, including legal terms and submission letters.
  11. Provide end-of-quarter/year deal room support.
  12. Liaise with commercial counsel on complex matters.
  13. Format, proofread, and coordinate approvals/signatures on contractual documents.
  14. Assist with legal due diligence and ensure adherence to legal processes and policies.
  15. Manage document organization, templates, and version control.

Qualifications :
