DSP Engineer - Aerospace Industry

We are looking for an experienced Engineer with at least 4 years' experience in signal processing and radar.

The Digital Signal Processing Engineer (DSP Engineer) will be involved and responsible for the design, development, and optimization of advanced digital signal processing algorithms and techniques, which power the innovative products and systems. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, the DSP Engineer will leverage deep technical expertise to drive the successful delivery of complex engineering projects.

Key duties will include:

1. Provide technical leadership, deliver detailed signal analyses, prototype hardware designs, and communication system assessments via briefings and/or technical reports to customers and colleagues.
2. Conduct research pertaining to advanced signal processing, GPS/GNSS technology, and/or re-configurable communication systems.
3. Develop and implement advanced signal processing algorithms with applications to GPS/GNSS receivers, communication transceivers, and/or digital signal processing primarily on re-configurable platforms.
4. Analyse signal processing performance using MATLAB, Python, or similar simulation environments.

The ideal person would be someone who:

1. Has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
2. Has a minimum of 4 years' post-grad working experience in implementing digital communications and/or DSP algorithms.
3. Has experience with integration and testing of communication and/or radar systems.
4. Has simulation tool experience with Simulink and MATLAB (non-negotiable).
5. Has experience with radar signal processing techniques (e.g., pulse compression, detection processing).
6. Has a valid driver's license and own vehicle.
7. Is a RSA Citizen.
8. Has no criminal record.
9. Preferably already resides in the Cape Town region, or is willing to relocate to Cape Town at own cost.

Please note: This is an On-Site role - Hybrid or Remote is unfortunately NOT a possibility for this role.
