Job description

We currently have a vacancy for a Project Manager with a Cape Town-based client specializing in renewable energy. The role involves overseeing all aspects of planning and executing utility-scale renewable energy plants, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to high standards. The Project Manager will coordinate activities among all parties involved, monitor project expenditures and schedules, manage variances, and keep stakeholders informed of progress and issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Manage construction and operations teams, ensuring contractor adherence to contractual obligations.
2. Handle contractual notices and communications, ensuring timely issuance and compliance.
3. Review and analyze project and maintenance schedules for accuracy.
4. Manage milestone payments, verifying contractual requirements are met.
5. Handle contractor claims and approve additional spending.
6. Forecast expenditures and ensure timely financial transactions.
7. Monitor HSE aspects, identify risks, and address them from contractual and legislative perspectives.
8. Ensure timely submission and issuance of reports, and prepare, review, and analyze them.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

1. Engineering, QS, or Construction Management-related Degree.
2. Project management qualification (PMP) or equivalent.
3. 5-10 years of experience as a Project Manager in the power generation or renewable energy industry.
4. Over 3 years of site experience in engineering or construction.
5. Risk management and/or change management experience.
