Job description

Responsibilities:

1. Utilizes scientific knowledge and training to provide engineering and technical support to customers via on-site, telephone, and email regarding the use, operation, maintenance, and specifications of complex instruments.
2. Consults with factory specialists, sales, and service management on quality-related issues and recommends appropriate actions.
3. Analyzes, investigates, interprets, and diagnoses scientific instrumentation to determine proper functioning.
4. Advises customers based on analysis results.
5. Evaluates malfunctioning instruments and prepares repair cost estimates.
6. Performs calibrations, preventive maintenance, and repairs according to SOPs.
7. Identifies sales opportunities and forwards them to Business Unit Managers.
8. Performs installation and basic training.
9. Maintains knowledge of company products and services to ensure accreditation.
10. Participates in relevant service trainings and substitutes for other Service Engineers as needed.
11. Performs in-house repairs and maintenance of customer and demo instruments.
12. Manages all customer/service interactions via CRM.
13. Travel frequency may reach up to 40% within South Africa, East Africa, and Sub-Saharan African countries.

Requirements:

1. Minimum of a National Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
2. Proficiency with electronic schematics, test equipment, and repair tools.
3. At least three years' experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining complex analytical or process instrumentation.
4. Strong communication and customer service skills.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French.
6. Must reside in Ivory Coast.
7. Valid driver’s license and passport required.
8. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
