Responsibilities:
- Utilizes scientific knowledge and training to provide engineering and technical support to customers via on-site, telephone, and email regarding the use, operation, maintenance, and specifications of complex instruments.
- Consults with factory specialists, sales, and service management on quality-related issues and recommends appropriate actions.
- Analyzes, investigates, interprets, and diagnoses scientific instrumentation to determine proper functioning.
- Advises customers based on analysis results.
- Evaluates malfunctioning instruments and prepares repair cost estimates.
- Performs calibrations, preventive maintenance, and repairs according to SOPs.
- Identifies sales opportunities and forwards them to Business Unit Managers.
- Performs installation and basic training.
- Maintains knowledge of company products and services to ensure accreditation.
- Participates in relevant service trainings and substitutes for other Service Engineers as needed.
- Performs in-house repairs and maintenance of customer and demo instruments.
- Manages all customer/service interactions via CRM.
- Travel frequency may reach up to 40% within South Africa, East Africa, and Sub-Saharan African countries.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a National Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Proficiency with electronic schematics, test equipment, and repair tools.
- At least three years' experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining complex analytical or process instrumentation.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French.
- Must reside in Ivory Coast.
- Valid driver’s license and passport required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
