Candidates must have commercial experience, ideally in a trading company.

This role will suit a candidate seeking strategic input and professional growth.

Responsibilities & Duties
  1. Participate in the strategic management of the company.
  2. Provide accurate reporting to management and the holding company, including:
  • Monthly financial reporting packs to the holding company.
  • Monthly exco pack (including management accounts) ahead of exco meetings.
  • Preparation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, weekly profit forecasts, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Manage related commercial reporting.
  • Effectively manage working capital.
  • Run external and internal audits.
  • Manage submission of annual tax returns, monthly VAT returns, and all related tax compliance.
  • Oversee BEE reporting and compliance.
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and ensure effective internal controls.
  • Provide high standards of financial controls and strong financial leadership.
  • Ensure adherence to holding company reporting standards and policies.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships and communication with subordinates, sales staff, group finance, and executive management.
  • Qualifications & Experience
    • CA (SA) qualification.
    • Strong knowledge of IFRS and Tax regulations.
    • Minimum of six years of relevant post-qualification experience.
    • Proven track record in financial management.
    • Expertise in financial planning and control, preferably with import and distribution exposure (including treasury and forex).
    • Strategic management exposure and well-developed business acumen.
    • High level of IT literacy and experience with information systems management.
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and direct teams.
