Job Description
This position ensures that the temple reflects the beauty, cleanliness, and sacred nature of the temple experience.
- Maintain standards established by the First Presidency.
- Project management responsibilities for capital expenditure R&I projects for facilities, systems, and grounds including inspections, reporting, compliance review, liaison with local government, permitting, monitoring project schedules, and coordinating furniture/materials delivery and installation.
- Manage the work of other employees, which may include a mixed workforce.
- Serve as the most senior functional expert in the facility.
- Support functions related to Travel, Fleet, Facilities Management, Records, Translation, and ICS Departments.
- Initially serve as the site supervisor during temple construction, transitioning to the TFM role upon completion and dedication of the temple.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all site supervision during construction.
- Maintain the temple and associated buildings, including patron housing, visitor's center, and temple president's residence, approximately 40,000 sq ft.
- Ensure standards are maintained during peak usage and closure periods.
- Manage expectations of 1,000-2,000 key stakeholders.
- Provide on-site and remote training, coaching, and mentoring to the Temple Facilities Services team.
- Implement and test maintenance guides, systems, and equipment.
- Create and execute annual plans, managing project and operational costs, maintenance, and repairs of electrical, mechanical, audio-visual, and computer systems.
- Manage department labor costs and third-party relationships.
- Participate in project close-out procedures, including archiving, warranty, and final documentation.
- Communicate with the Temple President, Priesthood leaders, local governments, architects, and contractors.
- Provide regular project status reports.
- Monitor project timelines for completion.
Qualifications
- Four-year degree in facilities management, building industry, project management, or related field.
- At least four years of experience in facilities management or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of facilities systems such as boilers, chillers, electrical controls, audiovisual, electrical distribution, and plumbing.
- Physical capability to perform job requirements, including sitting for long periods and heavy lifting.
- Preferred: Experience working in a temple.
