Qualifications

Job description

SUMMARY :

Our client is looking for an experienced individual with a strong work ethic who can effectively and efficiently implement and manage store operations and controls.

POSITION INFO : Butchery Manager

Area : East Rand, Gauteng

Salary : R15000 to R30000 net per month

Working Hours : Monday to Friday : 07 : 00 to 18 : 00

Saturdays : 07 : 00 to 17 : 00

Sundays : 07 : 00 to 14 : 00

One day off per week

Duties & Responsibilities :

Butchery Management :

  • In consultation with senior management, run special offers as agreed and appropriate.
  • Inspect equipment regularly to ensure it is in good working order and safe to use.
  • Assist on the shop floor and in the general running of the convenience store as a priority.
  • Ensure accuracy of orders.

People Management :

  • Supervise other butchers or meat cutters, schedule work activities, rotations, and holidays in consultation with management, ensuring butchery opening times are maintained and fully staffed.
  • Offer on-the-job training and coaching to junior butchers.
  • Motivate and develop your team, including setting objectives & strategies.
  • Plan annual and interim labor requirements based on specific volumes and retail needs.
  • Equip staff with the necessary tools and tests to uphold product standards.
  • Ensure staff are well-versed in stock rotation and shelf display requirements.
  • Identify staff development needs and address them accordingly.
  • Evaluate staff performance, providing feedback and coaching as needed.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are followed and updated to adapt to changing environments; train staff on new rollouts.
  • Handle IR issues following correct processes.
  • Manage casual staff, Overtime, and Leave provisioning.

Customer Service :

  • Prepare special cuts of meat based on customer orders.
  • Assist and resolve customer queries.

Reporting :

  • Participate in daily telephonic feedback meetings with the manager.

Requirements :

  • Grade 12 qualification.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding Afrikaans & English.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in butchery and production within a retail environment.
  • Delivery experience.
  • Code 10 driver’s license.
