Job summary

Placements24 in Durban partners with a renowned architectural design firm to recruit a Project Architect who will lead the design and delivery of mixed-use developments. You will drive design excellence, mentor junior staff and coordinate with consultants to meet timelines and budgets.

The role requires SACAP registration, a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Architecture, and a minimum of 7 years post-graduate experience, with strong skills in AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
• SACAP registration is required.
• 7+ years of post-graduate experience in architectural practice.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp.
• Strong knowledge of Durban building regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead design process for mixed-use developments from concept to construction documentation.
• Coordinate design efforts with engineers, consultants, and other project stakeholders for integrated delivery.
• Manage client communications and presentations with clear understanding and buy-in.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, planning regulations and zoning in KwaZulu-Natal.
• Oversee construction phase with site visits and site queries to ensure design intent.
• Review and approve shop drawings and material submittals.
• Mentor junior architects and provide technical guidance.
