Placements24 is partnering with a Durban-based engineering practice to recruit a Civil Design Engineer. You will contribute to conceptualization and detailed design for infrastructure projects including transportation, water and wastewater systems.

The role emphasizes sustainable engineering and collaboration with multiple disciplines. Requirements include a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, 5+ years’ design experience, and ECSA registration eligibility, with proficiency in Civil 3D or Revit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in civil engineering design.
• Professional registration with ECSA or eligibility for such.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D, Revit, or other relevant design software.
• Solid understanding of geotechnical principles, hydrology, and transportation engineering.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed engineering designs for infrastructure projects, including site development and roadworks.
• Produce design drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Perform engineering calculations for structural, hydraulic, and traffic analyses.
• Conduct site visits to verify parameters and support construction activities.
• Collaborate with project managers and other disciplines for constructability.
• Stay updated on latest design standards and best practices in civil engineering.
