Job description

Primary Duties as DTP

The main responsibilities include preparing and setting up jobs for print, which involves:

1. Processing client artwork for print, including clothing jobs
2. Creating visuals
3. Following setup procedures

All jobs must be processed from scratch, as artwork may differ from previous similar jobs. Artwork must be cross-checked between the job card and the visual, ensuring:

• Sizing is correct
• Artwork placement is accurate
• Template setup is correct
• Information, details, and delivery date are correct and valid
• Colours are provided in CMYK, Pantone, or included as samples
• Correct substrates are chosen, matching the visual and job card

Any queries or concerns regarding the above should be escalated to management. The job card must be signed off upon completion of setup.

Setup and Quality Checks

• Perform test prints, which must be signed off by the designer before bulk printing
• Verify the template if using a previous setup, ensuring its correctness in relation to the new job card
• Check Pantones, CMYK values, or samples against the artwork and provided samples

Follow checking procedures to ensure:

• No elements have dropped off the artwork
• Clipping masks are correctly applied
• No banding lines or glitches are present
• Text is accurate and properly placed
• No transparency issues

Ad Hoc and General Administration

• Perform general administrative duties as necessary
• Keep the workstation clean and organized
• Assist management as required
• Perform related duties assigned by management
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
