Immediate Superior : Dry Goods Coordinator

Job Grade : 5

Location : Springs

Function : Supply Chain

Sub Function : Manufacturing

Type of Contract : Permanent

Reference Number : 130568

Closing Date : 27 / 02 / 2025

Applications are invited for the abovementioned position to be based in Springs.

This person will report to the Dry Goods Controller.

Key performance areas include:

  1. Achieving and maintaining high levels of customer service by adhering to service level agreements.
  2. Effective supervision of staff (Checkers, Forklift Drivers, General Workers, and workforce staff).
  3. Exercising effective stock control:
    1. Supervising and controlling the receipt and despatch of products;
    2. Controlling both physical and system stock movements;
    3. Completing recording and filing of transactions and documents;
    4. Participating in stock takes;
    5. Executing daily cycle counts;
    6. Controlling operating costs (e.g., overtime work);
    7. Exercising control over the sorting of leakers, breakages, and other waste/losses;
    8. Ensuring adherence to warehousing procedures;
    9. Ensuring effective quality management of finished goods and Dry goods in FWO1;
    10. Ensuring compliance to ICC, ISO, HACCP, and related audit standards;
    11. Maintaining housekeeping and safety standards;
    12. Working overtime and shifts when required;
    13. Performing stand-in duties when required;
    14. Active participation in MiniBusiness activities (Mission Directed Work Teams).

The successful candidate must have the following experience/skills:

  1. Minimum of a Matric Certificate (Grade 12) plus a tertiary qualification within the Logistics/Warehousing study fields.
  2. At least 3 years relevant working experience within a warehousing environment.
  3. Working knowledge of relevant standard operating procedures and work instructions would be preferable.
  4. Competent in the use of SAP and Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook).
  5. Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  6. Strong administrative aptitude.
  7. Persuasiveness and ability to influence activities outside direct area of control.
  8. Ability to prioritize a wide range of tasks.
  9. Flexibility and ability to perform under pressure.
  10. Ability to function independently and work well within a team.
  11. Sound interpersonal skills and experience in the supervision of staff.
  12. Willingness and ability to work shifts and extended hours when required.
