Job Purpose :

To provide a professional, efficient and effective driving and delivery service to support the general functioning of the organisation.

Responsibilities: Driver's Duties

• Communicate delivery delays / non-deliveries to appropriate salesperson via email and integrate these into the work schedule and daily activities.
• Liaising with sales regarding correct end user contact numbers.
• Ensure no speeding fines or other traffic regulation contraventions.
• Maintain professional and courteous conduct on the roads at all times.
• Maintain a professional, courteous, and friendly interface with visitors/clients at all times.
• Make deliveries timeously and record them in a trip sheet.
• Maintain the vehicle in a clean, neat, and presentable condition on a weekly basis upon instruction.
• Maintain vehicle logbook.
• Ensure vehicles are checked each time before use according to the vehicle checklist and report any damage or concerns immediately.
• Calling and arranging with all POD customers.
• Planning the delivery run and completing the delivery schedule.
• Working with the sharing driver to split and set out the daily run.
• Carry out any urgent collections and deliveries when instructed.
• Carry out any special deliveries and collections when instructed.
• Working with the co-driver when loading the vehicle in dispatch and offloading the vehicle at customers.
• Reading and responding to emails.
• Handing daily paperwork to accounts.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

• Matric
• Valid Driver’s Code 10 license with PDP
• 5 years' experience as a driver in a corporate environment

Skills and Knowledge:

• Basic knowledge of general administrative processes
• Good understanding of organisational structure
• Good knowledge of facility layout
• Good knowledge of routes, related business places, and locality
