Job Description: Driver at Monarch Shores Recovery

About Monarch Shores Recovery: Monarch Shores Recovery is dedicated to helping people overcome their struggles with substance use disorder. Position Summary: The Driver is responsible for assessing client needs and monitoring behavior while at the program. The primary duty is to transport clients to and from destinations safely, comfortably, and efficiently. This role requires attention to detail and additional responsibilities to ensure client safety and well-being.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Assist the Transportation Supervisor in providing services to clients.
  2. Monitor the needs and behaviors of clients.
  3. Interact with clients and document interactions.
  4. Learn about alcohol and drug abuse, alcoholism, and recovery principles.
  5. Document clients' daily activities.
  6. Maintain vehicle cleanliness and upkeep of the program.
  7. Recognize early signs of illness and report them appropriately.
  8. Assist in connecting clients with community services and resources.
  9. Respond to emergencies and take necessary actions.
  10. Discuss significant client activities with the Transportation Manager.
  11. Follow HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality.
  12. Stay alert and awake during all shifts.
  13. Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
  14. Drive safely at all times.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Preferences:
  • At least 6 months of sobriety if in recovery.
  • Interest or experience in chemical dependency and abuse.
  • Effective communication skills with diverse individuals.
  • Friendly and approachable personality.
