Job description

RPO Recruitment is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Draughtsman to join our client's engineering team in Springs, Gauteng. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically proficient professional to work on cutting-edge ventilation system designs in a fast-paced, model-driven environment. If you have a strong background in draughting and 3D modelling using SolidWorks, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities

1. Create precise and efficient General Arrangement (GA) drawings for tender purposes, focusing on aboveground fan ventilation systems.
2. Conduct onsite measurements both above and underground to ensure drawing accuracy.
3. Develop draughting content based solely on 3D modelling (approximately 95% model-driven work).
4. Ensure all drawings are dimensionally accurate without manual dimensions or notes.
5. Collaborate closely with engineering and project teams to meet tight deadlines.
6. Maintain organized documentation and version control of all drawings and models.
7. Follow all safety protocols and maintain professional conduct during site visits.

Requirements

1. Minimum of 5 years proven experience in draughting and 3D modelling.
2. Red Seal certification and at least 5 years of working experience as a Red Seal artisan (non-negotiable).
3. Proficient in SolidWorks (no other CAD platforms considered).
4. Own transport and willingness to travel for site measurements.
5. Strong understanding of mechanical components and industrial ventilation systems.
6. Ability to work independently, accurately, and under pressure.
7. Draughting qualifications are not essential; practical experience is key.
8. Residing in or near Irene, Pretoria, or Centurion is advantageous.
